Melissa is a resident of Altoona, Iowa. She is married to Pete Nelson who is a volunteer board member within the Miss Polk County Scholarship Program.  Melissa and Pete have 1 daughter, Brooklynn Garrett-Nelson.

​Angela Leeper is a resident of Altoona, Iowa. She graduated from Grand View University in Des Moines. She is a teacher with the Des Moines Public School District.

 

She is married to Brian Leeper and is mother to Chloe (5th grade) and Carter (9th grade), both students at Southeast Polk Community School District. She has one dog named Willis.

 

Angela enjoys the Iowa Hawkeyes, working out, shopping, sporting events, and spending time with her friends and family.

 

Angela is an accomplished dancer, as she was a member of the Iowa Barnstormers Dance Team during the 1996 and 1998 seasons.
